Space Bags
I've seen the commercials on TV and even seen them in the stores, but I don't know anyone that has actually tried them. Have you tried Space Bags? You know, those plastic bags that you put your clothes and blankets and other out of season fabrics in, then vacuum the air out. Have you tried them? Is it a good deal? Should I try them? In addition to off season clothes I could put the dress up clothes I never wear, the clothes that don't quite fit...but might sooner or later, the fleece for rat hammocks. What do you think?

Well, let me tell you about my expirence...
I bought the large space bags for my blankets, I stuffed - I could only get two per bag though they insisted I could get four - sealed it, and sucked out the air, all good. I took the second bag and did the same thing.
I stored them under the bed. that night as I was getting ready for bed a heard a hiss, was there a snake in the house? no one of the bags had sprung a leak, after only about eight hours! High quality polymer my ass.
Even after that experience, I bought the travel space bag for my trip to Latin America to make my fleece and sweater a little more manageable. It worked until I took them out and tried to re pack them, again a tear and a slow leak.
I think Space Bags are crap, but tht is just my opinion...
Yup. I filled a couple with mounds of stuffed animals that hubby got me and I can't bear to part with but have no room for. Now they all fit neatly under the guest bed. Extra blankets are kept clean and out of the way under the futon in the guest room where they are accessable to guests without having to wake me.
But, yeah, this is my second set. In the first set, all but one of the bags sprung leaks. So, before you move them to the attic, let them sit for a few days. Buy them at Walmart and keep the packaging so you can exchange them. Cool product, crappy quality control.
