MRI

I just got back from having an MRI for my back. This is the third one I've had, second for my back, so I knew what to expect...but it's still not fun. It may not hurt you-but, boy does it toy with your mind. They gave me earplugs since it's so loud and I requested a blindfold. Believe me, you really don't want to see those tight quarters-even if you're not claustrophobic! On the board I went, and in the tube. It wasn't bad for the first set...then the second...then I started getting anxious. I started going through the alphabet naming different foods for each letter. Then my back started hurting-lying on it without moving does that. Then I started getting thirsty...and then had difficulty swallowing...Another test done-about 15 minutes to go. Ugh. Then I felt it might be hard to breathe. The coolness when I entered the machine was long gone. Then I started with the alphabet again-naming cities this go around while trying to swallow and breathe. Finally it was over. Thank God! Unfortunately, my back had seized up and I had difficulty raising my legs so the technician could remove the pillow from under them. I finally was able to get off the darn thing and had a drink of water. I wanted another MRI-but God I hate having them done! Now I'm home and ready for a stiff drink!

I hope you back feels better soon. I agree, MRI's are horrible, especially for people with back issues.
