Columbus Day

Today is Columbus Day. I feel, however, that Columbus was more of a villain than a hero. While many people celebrate, especially in Italian-American communities, many protest. He didn't discover America. He was a lousy governor (fired for mismanagement). And he decimated the native nations he encountered. Not my idea of a hero.
