Black Friday
Why do they call the day after Thanksgiving Black Friday? Is it because lots of people go shopping, so stores profits are in the black? Hmmm. Inquiring minds want to know, but are too lazy to look it up! In any case today is also White Friday. Yes, there was snow for Turkey Day and it's still sticking around. It's not on the roads, and it's just a dusting, so it looks quite pretty. Now that Thanksgiving has passed it's time to get ready for Christmas! My outside lights are up, so I just need to get the outside decorations up and turn the timers on. Now I turn the car radio to the all Christmas song station and get in the spirit. Let's get decorating!

Your definition is correct.
But it is a misconception that the Friday after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year.
Actually it's the last Saturday before Christmas that is really the busiest.
