Lemon Basil

Of all the herbs I received at this years Wine & Herb Fest I was most excited about getting lemon basil. I love intriguing, not so common varieties. Unfortunately, the little herb I received didn't look very good. Later it looked decidedly unhealthy. Sadly, it didn't make it-the poor thing is dead. As I unpotted it I realized the problem, part of it anyway. The poor little thing had no roots! The root system was so underdeveloped the poor plant never had a chance. I hope to get a few more herbs-perhaps I can find another lemon basil.
