Phone Issues

I'm having phone issues again. I figured I needed to replace the battery in my cordless phone. I couldn't find a suitable battery-my phone is a Southwestern Bell I got it Texas over 10 years ago...maybe even longer ago than that. I wound up at radio shack and the guy found a battery that looked perfect. When I got home it fit in the phone so I let it charge-the little green light was on, so I figured problem solved. When I awoke the next day I picked up the phone-nothing. I put in a corded phone and still had issues. I looked in the computer adapter jack-sure enough corrosion. I've had that problem almost every year after hard rains. Luckily, the phone guy gave me an extra one-so I switched that out and it seems that the corded phone is fine. Unfortunately, still no luck with my cordless. I don't know what the problem is. The battery does fit-but it's not working. This afternoon I'm off to look for a new phone.

You still have a home phone?

That's so 1900's!

LOL. Vinnie is right, but I still have one too - I need it for my alarm system. I think the only person who calls it is my sister-in-law and people who have a wrong number.

Good luck with finding a new phone.

I guess I'm old fashioned. I just want my phone at home-I don't want to be bothered when I'm out of the house. My parents got me a tracfone and I have that-but I don't turn it on and hardly anyone has the number. Emergencies only.
